The Executive Board of Nebraska Dietary Managers Association is dedicated to our membership. One of our goals is to improve our organization. A few ways our seminars can benefit you are: • A great place to network - many have the same issues to deal with you are having and can offer you new insights • Learning new ideas/concepts - we try to encompass a wide variety of topics and always include sanitation • Receive continuing education credit - all of our seminars are approved by National DMA • Form new Friendships/Mentors - Many great friendships have developed by attending NDMA seminars

Officers, Committee Chairs and what they do

|
Officers(serve 2 year terms) President: responsible for the overall management of the chapter (12-16 hours per month) President-Elect: assists president in the management of the chapter and assumes president's duties in his/her absence.(10-14 hours per month) Secretary: responsible for taking, preparing, and mailing meeting minutes. Also sends new, active, and inactive rosters to other officers and maintains communication with members and the public. (8-10 hours per month) Treasurer: responsible for maintaining financial records of the chapter.(10-14 hours per month) Past President: acts as the chapter historian and provides resources for the current president and president-elect (4-6 hours per month)
Committee Chairs:(serve as long as desired) Newsletter Editor: gather material for the quarterly publication; write, proofread, or type articles, sell advertising space. Print and distribute newsletter. (10-12 hours per month) Education Chairman: responsible for maintaining information and notifying the membership on local education programs.(4 hours per month) Program Chairman: responsible for planning the state or district meeting.(4-12 hours per month) Spokesperson: responsible for monitoring and acting on regulatory and legislative activity concerning dietary managers.(12-16 hours per month) Membership Chair: responsible for recruiting new members, communicating with active members to make sure their needs are met and contacting dropped members. (8 hours per month) Travel Chairman: responsible for coordinating group travel for state and national events. (0-5 hours per month) Nominating Committee: responsible for selecting the slate of officers for the ballot. (0-5 hours per month) Teller Committee: responsible for counting the returned ballots. (0-1 hours per month) School Liaison: responsible for making presentations about DMA to students enrolled in a dietary manager training program. (4-8 hours per month) Webmaster: responsible for updating the chapter Web site with new information as necessary (2-4 hours per month)
